Drinks Reception & Theatrical event 4th July 2012 7.30pm Hampstead Conservatives Drinks Reception & Theatrical event Richard Fitzwilliams performs “Mutiny on the Bounty & Captain Bligh” a story that has a unique connection to Hampstead and Highgate. Richard was the editor of the international edition of Who’s Who (1975 – 2001). A public relations consultant and social commentator, he regularly lectures with perception and wit. He also has a special, family, connection with the Mutiny on the Bounty, one of history’s most famous mutinies.
Drinks Reception with Simon Marcus 28th June 2012 7.30pm Simon lives in Hampstead and was one of four people to be appointed onto The Independent Riots Communities and Victims Panel, set up to discover what sparked last year's London riots. The report was published in March. Simon will be speaking about the Commission and how to prevent future riots.
Social Action – Animal Rescue Unit Visit 16th June 2012 11am On Saturday 16 th June, as part of our first Social Action project with the Central and North East London RSPCA, we will be visiting their central Animal Rescue unit to assist their staff and volunteers for the day. In these difficult times, it usually goes unreported on how vulnerable animals can be while the number of animals abandoned increases dramatically. The strain that this increase puts on organisations like the RSPCA in the form of space, resources and funding is extreme.
Social Action – Born to be Wild Appeal 10th June 2012 11am until 2pm Last month, Vice Chairman for Social Action Marc Nykolyszyn launched the Hampstead & Kilburn Social Action Project. This is an initiative to proudly embrace and represent the fantastic work our association/individual members support to create real change in our local area. For our first Social Action project, we have teamed up with the Central and North East London RSPCA for their urgent appeal for donations to fund their animal rescue unit and build a brand new nursery to help rehome feral kittens and take them off the streets.
