■ Labour-run Camden Council’s plan to build an 11-storey tower block at Liddell Road was given the green light by Camden’s Planning Committee..
• All Labour members voted in favour of the proposal on the Planning Committee.
• The local Labour ward councillors who sit on the Committee - Phillip Rosenberg (West Hampstead) and Richard Olszewski (Fortune Green) - voted for it.
• West Hampstead Labour councillor James Yarde also spoke in support of the scheme.
• West Hampstead Labour councillor Angela Pober did not attend the meeting.
The scheme will result in an oppressive 11-storey tower block on Maygrove Road and the loss of hundreds of local jobs. And with just 4% of homes in the scheme being affordable, it doesn’t comply with Camden’s own affordable housing policies.
Your local Conservative parliamentary candidate Simon Marcus and local campaigners Ian Cohen and Andrew Parkinson have strongly opposed the scheme. Camden Conservatives leader Claire-Louise Leyland also voted against the 11-storey tower.
Your local Conservative team will continue to campaign against Labour’s plans to bring high-rise development to West Hampstead, we’ll protect local jobs, and we’ll make sure Camden spends the profit it will make from this development on affordable homes for the local community.tend the meeting.
