Alicia Kearns, MP for Rutland and Melton and Chair of the Foreign Affairs Select Committee, joined the Hampstead and Highgate Conservatives on Wednesday night in West Hampstead.
Ms Kearns has been a remarkable force to be reckoned in regards to the scrutiny of the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office's policies. Recently, Kearns garnered praise from across the spectrum for her questioning of David Cameron, Foreign Secretary, on whether he believed Israel had breached international humanitarian law. Residents of Hampstead and Highgate applauded Alicia’s integrity, passion for diplomacy, and, most of all, her commitment to human rights.
Attendees were curious to hear about Kearns' opinions on the Russian invasion of Ukraine, the potential Trump presidency, and the power dynamics in Asia with India and China.
