Vale of Health - Policing & Crime Update!
Cllr Stephen Stark was appalled at the graffiti daubed on the vehicles owned by residents of the Vale of Health and parked close to your homes. He was also told of a spate of vehicles being broken into and one stolen and of speeding vehicles entering and leaving the Vale of Health from and onto East Heath Road. Stephen immediately took action and met residents.
Stephen contacted the police and they agreed to increase patrols in the area. Stephen set up a meeting with the police and Camden’s Community safety officer and local residents.
Adequate and suitable lighting is important especially in the VoH which is beautiful but remote. Stephen asked Camden to carry out a light study in the area to check that the lighting is adequate but he was contious of the Heath that borders the area and its wildlife. This will be tricky and so Stephen is also discussing with Camden Council whether CCTV is viable and whether they are prepared to install it. Along with the graffitti attacks there has been a spate of car break-ins and possible drug dealing and CCTV may help with this.
To address the issue of the speeding vehicles, Stephen arranged for Camden’s officer to carry out a study of the signage to slow traffic by better signage and possible speed humps.
Stephen has compiled a contact list for residents to contact the police and Camden Council because its vital to report the crimes so that those responsible can be caught. It also ensures that your area is kept as a priority area.
Of course you can contact Stephen at any time for his assistance. Stephen lives and works in the Village, so moments away.
