Chalcots residents will be hurt by Camden's decision to put other estates' tenants in front of them in the housing waiting list by giving
them 630 extra housing points.
Camden has granted the points to all residents in 4 Regents Park blocks hurt by HS2: leapfrogging everyone else. 630 was chosen to be slightly more
than the 600 maximum given to domestic violence victims who need to rapidly escape and people looking to downsize to free up larger homes.
We back the principle of helping those hard-hit by HS2, but Chalcots residents didn't get the same treatment!
Councillor Steve Adams and Camden Conservatives' leader Oliver Cooper raised this unfairness last week, but Camden bizarrely said
the works at the Chalcots were not sufficiently intensive to justify it.
We will keep pushing for the Chalcots to be given fair treatment, not relegated to an afterthought.
