Deliveroo has submitted a planning application to Camden Council to install a kitchen in the car park of 117 Finchley Road. They intend to build a unit to act as a hub for food delivery in the Swiss Cottage area.
We recognise that this application has led to strong feelings by local residents, and we have been working with Councillor Roger Freeman to try to ensure that your views are represented.
We recently wrote to the Camden New Journal to emphasise the necessity of listening to residents' views on this and the need for the Council to create open and transparent dialogue to ensure that this proposal does not negatively impinge on the lives of those living around it. After a recent site visit, we share residents' concerns about the potential effect of unwanted noise from the kitchen, traffic and noise from the delivery mopeds and the smell of food - to name a few. We also note that a generator has been recently installed on the site, which is already causing disruption to those living in its vicinity, particularly at anti-social hours.
You can view the full planning application on the Council's website here, searching for application number 2017/4737/P: http://planningrecords.camden.gov.uk/Northgate/PlanningExplorer17/Gener… - follow the link here
The deadline to submit your comments on this application is Wednesday 1 November 2017.
