Last week we popped by Primrose Gardens for a street surgery, to speak to you about the issues that you may be having with Camden council services.
It was lovely to see so many of you on the doorstep. Even with the rainy weather that day, most people that we spoke to seemed really happy with life on this unique road. They were also really pleased with the gardens and thought the refurbishment and replanting had been done well.
A number of residents told us that waste was a major issue for them still, from general fly-tipping to builders leaving construction waste everywhere. We were also informed that Veolia crews still leave a mess behind them on a weekly basis, when they collect household waste. We have reported this and we will be monitoring the situation over the coming weeks.
We know that the waste contract has caused many problems since it was implemented in April. Please do get in touch if you’re having problems. You can also use the Clean Camden app to report issues directly to the team: here
People had contacted us to say they were concerned that there were plans to install bikehangars in Primrose Gardens - installations in other parts of the borough were carried out earlier this year. Camden has told us that there are no such plans for your street. Bikehangars are only installed once the council has received requests from six or more residents in any given street and after carrying out a full public consultation.
One person who talked to us about the recent spike in moped mugging asked if we could share contact details for our local neighbourhood watch. If you are interested in joining or setting up one please email [email protected]
We have organised a meeting about policing and moped crime with the Borough commander and representatives from the Mayor’s office. The meeting will take place on 14 September 2017, at 7pm, St Stephen church on Rosslyn Hill NW3. There will be time for you ask questions, or raise any issues that you may have.
All the best,
Claire-Louise, Leila, Jonny and Steve
