■ Hampstead Town Conservative Councillors, Oliver Cooper, Tom Currie and Stephen Stark have called for Oriel Place Gardens, in the heart of Hampstead village, to be reopened by Camden Council.
The Gardens, between Gail’s on the High St and the Horseshoe on Heath St, are owned by the Council, but are closed 364 days a year.
Camden Council is selling Wells Court, the sheltered elderly accomodation opposite the Gardens. Stephen Stark is helping to ease residents’ move and has written to Camden to ensure the sale doesn’t include the Gardens.
Your councillors have met local residents, while Oliver Cooper has asked Camden to use some of the sale’s proceeds to reopen the Gardens. This would be a great asset in the middle of Hampstead, and Tom, Oliver, and Stephen fully back the Gardens’ reopening.
