■ Following a suggestion by Labour councillors, Camden is currently considering whether to close Billy Fury Way, the shortcut between West End Lane and Finchley Road.
There are concerns about littering and antisocial behaviour. Rather than simply closing the path, we think that it would be better to invest in improving its safety and appearance.
Local resident, Andrew Saywell, said: “Camden has section 106 money available from the Blackburn Road student development, and this would be the perfect way to spend it. In particular, the entrances at either end should be opened up, the path should be better lit and CCTV should be installed.”
