Camden Labour have proposed closing the public toilets at South End Green: a move that the South End Green Association and local Conservative councillors are fighting.
Oliver Cooper, Stephen Stark, and Tom Currie are campaigning to keep the toilets open and free. Many councils sell advertising space in toilets, while funds from the area’s Community Infrastructure Levy can pay for extra costs.
Public urination is already a significant enough problem in the area, and it’ll get worse without public loos. Free toilets are essential for local residents and visitors to Hampstead Heath - it’s vital Camden finds way to cut costs, not services.
