REVIEW OF WASTE SERVICE VOTED DOWN BY LABOUR
Conservative councillors Steve Adams and Oliver Cooper tabled a proposal in November for an independent external review of Camden’s waste collection service.
Since Camden ended weekly collections in 2017, streets have become filthier. Flytipping is the 2nd-highest in England, recycling rates are lower than a decade ago, and petty rules inconvenience residents.
Camden’s Labour Cabinet member rejected a review and said the service is ‘performing well’, which most residents would dispute!
Labour voted down the Conservative proposal, and other parties backed a review but opposed restoring weekly bin collections.
