Protecting Hampstead's Green Spaces
Our community’s green spaces - from Hampstead Heath to Hampstead Green - are world famous. Hampstead Conservatives commited to protecting local green spaces,so they can be enjoyed for generations to come.
Hampstead Town’s councillors Tom Currie, Oliver Cooper, Stephen Stark have London National Park City initiative to protect London’s green spaces from development as if they were national parks: the first ward in Camden to do so.
Oliver’s got his own hands dirty spending several mornings helping local residents to restore the gardens by the side of Pond Street, outside the Royal Free Hospital (pictured above).
Hampstead’s heritage matters to us, and Stephen Star, Tom Currie, and Oliver Cooper are fighting to preserve it and ensure Hampstead retains its unique charm.
Stephen, a chartered structural engineer, has worked with Camden and residents to ensure the safety of the wall on Hampstead High Street outside Greenhill (pictured left).
Tom has been working with the local community to help renovate Christ Church, and helped protect a 200-year-old bollard on Cannon Place that was set to be destroyed.
Oliver and Tom have been fighting to save Hampstead’s historic AIR Studios from a large basement development.
