Cllr Chris Knight and and Cllr Simon Marcus atteded the war memorial at White stone Pond to lay a wreath on remembrance Sunday. It is rare that the eleventh hour falls on the eleventh day. They were delighted that many others also came to pay their respects. Passers by stopped to join the group and cars slowed to watch as Cllr Knight paid tribute to the fallen with a few words and Cllr Marcus laid the wreath. With a clear blue sky, it was a wonderful and moving occasion with a crowd of young and old, showing that community spirit is alive and well in Hampstead.
The previous Saturday Simon and Chris led teams collecting for the Poppy appeal at Hampstead and Belsize tube stations.
