Following many requests from concerned local residents, Conservative Councillors Claire-Louise Leyland, Kirsty Roberts, Gio Spinella and Andrew Mennear have called-in Labour’s decision on the Gospel Oak Partnership for further scrutiny (see enclosed).
“I can’t remember ever receiving as many requests from members of the public to have a Camden Council decision called-in,” commented Andrew Mennear. “Residents are unhappy that the initial decision was taken at 12 o’clock on a Friday when many people with jobs couldn’t attend. They would also like Camden to provide full details about the consultation process to date and to be much clearer about future funding for the Partnership and of its accountability.
“I’d hope that Cllr Hayward, the Labour Cabinet Member who took this decision on her own, will in retrospect agree that this call-in allows her a second chance to address local residents’ concerns and to display a welcome commitment to transparency over Labour’s approach to the future of Gospel Oak.”
