CAMDEN CONSERVATIVES STRONGLY OPPOSE TRAFFIC RESTRICTIONS
■ As your local Conservative Councillors we wanted to know what you thought of Labour-run Camden Council's plans to restrict car access around St. Luke's Church of England School and St. Margaret’s School.
■ This scheme restricts vehicles from using Kidderpore Avenue, Kidderpore Gardens and Ferncroft Avenue between 7:45 am - 9 am and 3 pm - 4:15 pm, Monday to Friday during school terms with some small exemptions for residents of those roads. You can read the proposals here
■ To find out what residents thought we wrote to the whole area and have called on many of you in person. Pictured are our candidate for the London Assembly (Julie Redmond) and for Parliament (Don Williams) in Ferncroft Avenue asking for people’s opinions this week.
■ So far we have yet to speak to a single person in favour of Camden's plans. Many have spoken of the disruption, traffic displacement and added congestion in the surrounding streets.
■ Camden introduced this scheme by telling one of the local schools that these plans had been requested by you, the local residents. The school is now mortified that you are being told the plans have been introduced at the request of the local schools. The only people who want this scheme are the Labour councillors like Adam Harrison, who represents Bloomsbury.
■ We shall be writing to Camden Council to ask them not to implement this scheme. The final date to have your voice heard is 18th March. It is important that as many people as possible oppose the scheme using Camden’s online consultation portal here
Yours sincerely
