Camden has quietly told the Chalcots' councillor Steve Adams that the buildings' recladding works will only be complete in 2024: seven years after the evacuation.
This means the works will have gone on for as long as the seven years that the cladding was actually on the building!
After the collapse of the works contract earlier this year, which cost Camden £5m, the contract to re-clad the Chalcots is to be packaged up and re-tendered next year.
There will be a real start on site in 2022 and completion sometime in 2024. This has blighted residents' lives for far too long, with little sense of urgency from Camden.
