Camden is climbing up a league table. The fly-tipping statistics for England are out again.
It has overtaken Hounslow to claim the silver medal position. It was only three years ago that Camden was at the top of the league of dishonour. It’s the fifth year in a row that Camden has been on the medal podium among the dirtiest three councils in the land.
Cllr Gio Spinella slammed Camden, saying, ‘Camden Council makes repeated assurances every year that they have the fly-tipping issue under control, and every year they are proven wrong'. Camden continues to be one of the most fly-tipped areas in England, and despite proposals and suggestions from the opposition, nothing gets done. Ever since Camden Labour went back on its 2014 manifesto commitment to not remove weekly bin collections and introduced their new strategy to deal with rubbish collection, we have seen a concurrent rise in fly-tipping.
