Camden Council turning West Hampstead into Canary Wharf! NW6 Over-Development Update.
Local Conservatives have been supporting local West Hampstead residents in their battle against Labour Camden's over development plans. Here is a short round-up taken from our In Touch Newsletter dropped through every Fortune Green and West Hampstead ward this summer (attached below - white space is the address block).
NEW PLANS FOR TRAVIS PERKINS
A second set of plans for 156 West End Lane, owned by Labour-run Camden, is being submitted. We remain concerned about the height of the development, overlooking and overbearing properties on Lymington Road, and the safety of the proposed service access onto West End Lane. A copy of the plans is available at West Hampstead Library.
LIDDELL ROAD UPDATE
The new primary school at Liddell Road is now projected to open in September 2017. This is the same time work starts on Camden Labour’s 11-storey tower block that it's using to fund the school: rather than the £7 million offered to Camden by the Conservative government. We're concerned about a school opening next to a building site and are seeking assurances from Camden and the developer.
10-STOREY TOWER PLANNED
An application has been made to build a 10-storey tower at 317 Finchley Road. This is far too high for the area, and follows the 11-storey tower at Liddell Road: forced through by Camden Labour last year. To comment on the plans, go to Camden’s online planning portal. The reference is 2016/2910/P.
