Very impressive turn out for H&KCA Policy Forum.
Esther gave us a very robust and upbeat presentation about the Government “mini budget” event and need for Growth, that had taken place one week ago. It was very useful to hear the professional view through the lens of an Economist. Especially informative to get the wider perspectives of the market dynamics at play for the past week globally and not least the dire consequences of Vladimir Putin’s Russian invasion into Ukraine and Annexation of large regions of Ukraine announced this week, all driving down world markets.
The timing of “mini budget” was critical to reduce the full impact of Fuel energy increases scheduled for 1st October 2022, and get the “Growth Plan” under way.
There was very thoughtful debate and contributions from all participants.
The next H&KCA Policy Forum will hear from members who attended the Party Conference (date to be confirmed).
We will then move on to assessing different aspects of Government policy, using UK National Statistics alongside data from multinational organisations as our basis for thorough debate.
All welcome!
