Carol, John, and Joel are campaigning to make Brondesbury Park's pedestrian crossings safer. There have been numerous problems and complaints with the inefficient and ineffective timing of the lights, as well as errors with the lights themselves: slowing traffic and endangering lives.
In Willesden Lane, it is urgent that these measures are addressed sooner rather than later. This is particularly time-sensitive because of the extension of the Temple, development of flats to replace the Majestic Rooms, two temporary schools with children coming and going nearby (Christchurch Avenue and The Avenue) and a large housing development in The Avenue. The list is endless and it is important that action is taken now rather than wait for the chaos.
Residents are also complaining bitterly about numerous families running across the road where Chambers Lane meets Harlesden Road, with some very near accidents.
An engineer should be tasked with investigating the crossings in the area to ensure these problems are fixed and operating in a correct and — more importantly — safe manner.
