Labour-run Brent Council currently pays £150,000 per year to fund trade union officials who work solely on trade union work,. We, the Brent Council taxpayers foot the bill, whilst Labour-run Brent tell residents that they have no money to fund services.
Cllr John Warren has repeatedly asked 'Why on earth don't Unite and Unison pick up the bill? This should be their complete responsibility.'
John, along with Cllr Carol Shaw and Cllr Joel Davidson, have begun a campaign to make these Union posts paid for by the respective Unions. The money saved can then be spent on providing services for all Brent residents.
Both Unite and Unison are two of the largest donors to the Labour Party. Little Wonder Brent Labour won't stop using your money to fund the people who pay for their ability to campaign.
