We popped by last week to meet residents in Quickswood, Conybeare, Elliott Square and Elsworthy Rise. We wanted to find out about the issues that you are having with Camden council services, so that we can sort these out for you.
The people we spoke to shared their fears about the rise in moped muggings in Belsize. Some had even seen crimes committed by these scooter gangs. We are very worried about this too, so we’ve arranged a public meeting with the Borough Commander this week to make sure this scourge is addressed.
We know that fortnightly waste collections have caused many problems since they were implemented in April. We know that it’s much harder for you now, as you have to present your waste on collection day every other week. This also means keeping track of the different schedules for waste and recycling. People have told us that they’re worried that complaints about the regime fall on deaf ears at Veolia. Camden often seems unaware of the scale of the problems. We will talk to officers to make sure they acknowledge the problems that you’re experiencing. You can also use the Clean Camden app to report issues directly to the team: here
We are continuing to monitor some of the larger construction projects that threaten to blight our area - HS2 and 100 Avenue Road - so that we can try to mitigate against their impact on our streets.
Please do get in touch if you need our help.
All the best,
Claire-Louise, Leila, Jonny and Steve
